Compare factoring companies
The best factoring companies for trucking, judged on what they actually publish
Most "top 10" lists are paid placements with made-up star ratings. This one compares 4 well-known factors (RTS Financial, Apex Capital, Triumph, OTR Solutions) on what each says on its own website, dated, and lets you weight what matters to your truck. Full disclosure up front: we refer carriers to RTS Financial and may be paid for referrals. It's marked in the table.
What to look for in a factoring company
Every factor will tell you it's fast and fair. These questions get past the homepage. Ask each one the same list and get the answers in writing.
Ask every factor
- What's my advance rate, and when is the reserve released?
- What's the fee, and does it rise the longer my customer takes to pay?
- Recourse or non-recourse? What exactly does non-recourse cover?
- Is there a contract term, a monthly minimum or an auto-renewal?
- What does it cost to leave, and how fast do you release my notice of assignment?
- Are there per-invoice, wire, ACH or monthly fees on top of the rate?
- Do you run free credit checks on brokers before I haul?
- Do you take new MCs? Is there a startup program?
Get these in writing
- The full fee schedule, every line
- The termination clause, word for word
- Which customers you won't buy invoices from
- Your cut-off time for same-day funding
For the fee math itself, read freight factoring rates.
Build your own factoring company comparison
Set each feature to Skip, Nice or Must. The table re-sorts by how many of your weighted features each company states on its own carrier factoring page. Nothing here is a rating from us. "Not stated" means the page doesn't say, so put it on your list of questions.

Notice the last column. None of these four companies publishes a factoring rate on the pages we checked. Rates are quoted after they review your customers and volume, which is why comparing real written quotes beats comparing websites.
Top freight factoring companies: their own words, side by side
Short summaries of what each company's carrier factoring page states, in plain words. Click through to the source before you rely on any of it; companies change their offers.
| Company | Funding speed (as stated) | Advance (as stated) | Other stated features |
|---|---|---|---|
| RTS Financial (our partner) | Cash in 24 hours or less; same-day pay via the app | More than 90% within 24 hours | Fuel cards listed as a service; says funding limits depend on your customers' credit |
| Apex Capital | Same-day and next-day funding; overnight and weekend funding for qualifying clients | Not stated | Recourse and non-recourse options; free fuel card; free broker credit checks |
| Triumph | Eligible invoices paid in minutes to its LoadPay account | Not stated | Non-recourse contracts available; no minimums, no reserves; fuel card offered through a third party, subject to approval |
| OTR Solutions | Paid within seconds of uploading an invoice, 24/7/365 | Not stated | Says it offers true non-recourse factoring; fuel card and fuel credit |
We don't rank these companies or invent review scores. Speed claims often carry conditions (cut-off times, eligible invoices, funding to the company's own account first). Read the fine print on each site.

Which factoring company fits your situation?
No company is best for everyone. Here's how we'd narrow the list, based only on what each one publishes. Our partner is listed where it fits, with that bias disclosed.
You want the advance amount in writing up front
RTS Financial is the only one of the four that states an advance figure on its page: more than 90% of the invoice total within 24 hours. It's also the company we refer to, so weigh that.
Your customers are slow or shaky
Look hard at the non-recourse programs Apex, Triumph and OTR Solutions say they offer, and read exactly which non-payment cases each one covers. Non-recourse rarely covers everything; see non-recourse factoring.
You haul late and need money on a Sunday
Apex and OTR Solutions both say they fund outside business hours. Ask where the money lands first and how long it takes to reach your own bank.
You hate minimums and reserves
Triumph states no minimums and no reserves on its carrier page. Others may offer the same; ask, and get it in the contract.
Factoring company red flags that cost more than the rate
- 01
Long terms that renew on their own
A 12-month contract that auto-renews unless you give notice in a narrow window keeps you paying after a better offer shows up.
- 02
Reserves held for weeks
If the reserve sits until a customer pays and then waits for a monthly batch, your real advance is lower than it looks.
- 03
Fee stacking
A low headline rate plus per-invoice, wire, ACH, monthly service and minimum-volume fees can cost more than a higher flat rate.
- 04
Rates that climb with days to pay
A tiered fee that rises every 15 days punishes you for your customers' slowness. Know the top tier before you sign.
- 05
A hard exit
Termination fees, long notice periods and slow release of the notice of assignment can trap you for a month or more after you decide to leave.
How to switch factoring companies if you pick wrong
Switching is normal, but it takes planning. Start with your current contract: the notice period, any termination fee, and how the factor handles invoices that are still open. Then line up the new factor's approval before you give notice.
The old factor sends your customers a release of its notice of assignment, and the new factor sends its own. Until both land, payments can go to the wrong place, so tell each broker yourself and check every remittance for a few weeks. This is general information, not legal or financial advice; read your own agreement.
Why we refer carriers to RTS Financial
We're a dispatch service, not a factor. When carriers ask, we send them to RTS Financial, which says on its own page that it advances more than 90% of the invoice total within 24 hours and offers cash in 24 hours or less, with same-day pay after uploading invoices in the RTS app. Your real advance, fee and terms come from their written quote.
We may be paid for referrals. That doesn't change your quote, and you're free to compare every company above before you choose. Our full disclosure explains how it works.
Factoring company questions
How do I compare factoring quotes?
Put every quote on the same example: one $3,000 invoice paid in 30 days. Add the advance, every fee and the reserve release date, and see what lands in your account and when. Compare the termination clause too. The quote with the lowest headline rate isn't always the one that pays you the most.
Do factoring companies offer fuel cards?
Many do. All four companies in our table mention a fuel card on their own sites. Terms differ: some tie fuel advances to invoices, some offer separate fuel credit, and discounts vary by station. Ask what the card costs, where it's accepted and whether fuel advances carry their own fee.
What should I look for in a factoring company?
The advance rate, total fees, reserve release timing, recourse terms, contract length, minimums and the cost to leave. Then service: how fast they fund after upload, whether they check broker credit for free, and whether you can reach a person when a payment goes missing.
Are factoring reviews reliable?
Treat them with care. Many best-of lists earn money from the companies they rank, and review sites collect the angriest and happiest customers. Read reviews that describe specific problems, check how the company answered, and rely more on the written contract than on any star rating, ours included.
Which factoring companies accept new MCs?
Many factors work with new authorities because approval leans on your customers' credit, not your history. Some advertise startup programs. Ask each one directly whether they'll take an MC under 6 months and on what terms. Our partner reviews new authorities as part of its normal quote.
